Hope Mission Statement

The mission of Hope the Mission is to prevent, reduce and eliminate poverty, hunger, and homelessness by offering immediate assistance and long-term solutions.

Position Purpose and Summary

Hope the Mission is seeking a passionate and creative Part-Time Videographer & Photographer to capture impactful short-form content that showcases our work to end homelessness across Los Angeles County. The ideal candidate is a skilled visual storyteller, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable coordinating with Hope the Mission and Los Angeles Mission staff to document meaningful moments at various program sites.

Responsibilities

  • Film and photograph activities, events, and interviews for Hope the Mission and Los Angeles Mission across multiple Los Angeles County locations.

  • Capture approximately five hours of raw footage per week with attention to framing, lighting, and sound quality.

  • Coordinate weekly filming schedules with the President of Hope the Mission and the social media committee.

  • Upload all footage and photos promptly to shared Google Drive folders, including brief descriptions for each file.

  • Maintain professional communication and represent the organization’s values on-site.

  • Manage travel, setup, and teardown within the allotted nine-hour weekly schedule.

  • Ensure all media aligns with organizational branding, messaging, and mission-appropriate standards.

Content Scope

  • Short-form videos and Reels for social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.

  • Behind-the-scenes storytelling of Hope the Mission’s programs and initiatives.Impact-driven photography to support digital campaigns.

Note: This position focuses solely on capturing footage and photography; editing and post-production are not included.

Equipment

  • Hope the Mission will provide basic recording and photography equipment.

  • Candidates may use their own equipment if preferred, but it is not required.

Required Skills & Core Competencies

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in photography and videography (portfolio required).

  • Familiarity with social media content styles, trends, and best practices.

  • Ability to work independently and travel across Los Angeles County.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Reliable transportation and flexible availability.

  • Commitment to Hope the Mission’s core values of Love, Dignity, and Respect.
