Description

ThunderVision, the Oklahoma City Thunder's in-arena video production and motion graphics department, is dedicated to delivering high-quality content that tells our brand story. The Videographer/Editor will be responsible for shooting and editing a wide range of projects, including corporate partnership content, hype videos, game footage, entertainer features, mascot content, and media day production. This role involves contributing to all stages of production, from concept and scriptwriting to directing, capturing, and editing video content, while performing at a high level both independently and within a team.


In this role you will:

  • Produce, shoot, and edit video features for in-arena presentation and digital platforms

  • Play a key role in ideation for new video content for the Thunder and other brand initiatives

  • Capture and edit content featuring entertainers, performances, mascot skits, pre-game features, and special segments

  • Assist in planning, creating, and executing video production elements used during home games and events

  • Collaborate across departments and with corporate partners to help create seamless video production shoots

  • Stay informed on the latest video technologies, equipment, and production trends, recommending improvements that enhance efficiency and elevate the guest experience

  • Assist with equipment setup, set design, and the installation of studio lighting and green screens for video shoots

  • Create static graphics and motion animations used across various video features

  • Perform other duties as assigned


What you will bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or equivalent professional experience

  • Three to five years of video editing experience with Adobe Premiere and After Effects; experience with Avid Media Composer, Blender, Cinema 4D, Photoshop, and Illustrator is preferred but not required

  • Demo reel showcasing previous work

  • Strong understanding of non-linear editing principles and video production processes, including lighting, composition, and camera operation

  • Hands-on experience shooting with DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras and a solid understanding of lenses and framing

  • Proven ability to develop creative storylines and write engaging content for video

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines

  • Understanding of video encoding, codecs and formatting projects for appropriate channels

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the NBA and/or other professional sports is a plus


Additional details:

The primary work location is the Thunder’s corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City. This is a full-time, hourly position reporting to the Lead Videographer/Editor, ThunderVision. Physical requirements will include lifting, bending. and working in environments with loud noise and flashing lights.
