Videographer / Editor

Chemical Guys
On-site
Torrance, California, United States
$27 - $33 USD hourly
Photography & Videography

About the Role:

At Chemical Guys, content is our engine—and we’re looking for a Videographer & Editor who’s ready to hit the gas. From scroll-stopping social ads to long-form tutorials and high-energy sizzle reels, we create video content that entertains, informs, and converts. If you live in Premiere, dabble in After Effects, and can tell a great story in under 60 seconds or over 10 minutes—we want to meet you.

In this role, you’ll concept, shoot, and edit video content for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Meta ads, Amazon A+ pages, and more. You’ll also create dynamic lower thirds, supers, and product animations in After Effects. Whether you're behind the camera or in front of your timeline, you're obsessed with clean visuals, fast pacing, clear messaging, and strong hooks.

Most shoots happen on-site at our Torrance HQ, but local travel (5–10%) may be required to nearby locations like car washes, retail partners, or rented sets (e.g., AirBnb/Peerspace). You’ll also need to be available for occasional evening or weekend shoots (approx. 5%), depending on campaign needs. You must have a valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation for local travel days.

What You’ll Do:

  • Shoot and edit engaging video content for YouTube (short and long form), Instagram, TikTok, paid ads, Amazon content, and internal training videos.
  • Cut fast-paced sizzles, educational “how-to” videos, and short-form vertical content with an eye for visual rhythm and clarity.
  • Use After Effects to build animated product callouts, motion graphics, text overlays, and simple logo/title animations.
  • Capture product demos, testimonials, car detailing content, and lifestyle footage. • Collaborate with on-screen talent, photographers, and the creative team to concept, storyboard, and execute new video ideas.
  • Participate in local travel for off-site shoots as needed (approx. 5–10%). • Support occasional evening or weekend shoots based on production needs (approx. 5%).
  • Organize and maintain video assets, timelines, and exports with consistent naming and backup practices.
  • Stay in tune with current trends in visual storytelling, transitions, pacing, and formatting for each platform.
  • Adapt and resize content for multiple platforms (16:9, 4:5, 9:16), optimizing for scroll-stopping moments.
  • Prepare clean exports for multiple channels, ensuring compression and formatting meets platform-specific standards.
  • Contribute creative ideas to elevate video concepts and make the final product even better.

Bonus Points For:

  • Proficiency in After Effects expressions, templates, and animation presets.
  • Knowledge of AI tools within Adobe (such as Generative Fill) to help speed up workflow.
  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve for color correction.
  • Familiarity with Vimeo, Asana, or other collaborative project tools.
  • Comfort creating assets in or at least pulling assets from Photoshop or Illustrator for use in motion graphics.
  • Familiarity with a DAM (Digital Asset Management tool), like Bynder.
  • An interest in car culture, detailing, or automotive storytelling—gearhead energy welcome.

How to Apply:

Please submit your resume along with a link to your video reel or portfolio (no file uploads, please). We’d love to see a range of work—short-form social content, branded ads, tutorials, and motion graphics. Note: Applications without a reel or portfolio will not be considered. If you’re passionate about editing but skipped the brief, this probably isn’t the role for you.
