Description

Becker & Company is seeking a highly qualified and skilled Unmanned Camera Systems Designer to join our team to design, build and maintain unmanned camera units and platforms. This individual will also be responsible for testing and validating both the hardware and software components of camera systems to ensure performance and quality.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop unmanned camera systems, including enclosure, optics integration, power management, and connectivity.
  • Develop firmware and low-level software to interface with sensors, storage, wireless modules, and control logic.
  • Conduct validation testing on hardware and software systems to ensure reliability, performance, and image quality.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation including schematics, BOMs, test protocols, and technical reports.
  • Support deployment and field trials, including troubleshooting and system tuning based on real-world performance feedback.
  • Evaluate and select imaging components (CMOS sensors, lenses, processors, etc.) for various lighting, weather, and range requirements.
  • Ensure systems meet regulatory and safety standards, especially for remote or autonomous operation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Masterโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field experience.
  • Experience in embedded systems, imaging system design, or autonomous hardware platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of camera modules, optics, and image signal processing.
  • Proficient in embedded programming (C/C++), and familiar with microcontroller development environments.
  • Familiarity with CAD tools (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) and electrical design software
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills using scopes, logic analyzers, and software tools.
  • Comfortable working across software and hardware layers.
