Position Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (DRONE) industry expert to enhance our sales efforts by providing insights, strategic guidance, and technical expertise. This role is critical in helping our sales team understand industry trends, anticipate customer needs, and position our solutions effectively in a competitive marketplace. The position reports to the Director, UVA.

Responsibilities

Responsibility

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the sales team, offering industry-specific insights and expertise.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives to develop targeted sales strategies based on market trends and competitor analysis.
  • Provide technical, regulatory, or market knowledge to help customers understand the value of our solutions.
  • Stay updated on FAA regulations, industry standards, and emerging UAV technologies to ensure compliance and innovation.
  • Assist in customer presentations, webinars, and sales pitches to reinforce credibility and thought leadership.
  • Work with marketing and product teams to refine messaging and ensure alignment with industry needs.
  • Monitor and report on market dynamics, emerging trends, and competitor movements to inform sales strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance to sales staff on industry nuances and customer pain points.

 Other work duties as assigned.

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Extensive experience in the UAV industry, with a strong understanding of unmanned aerial systems, regulations, and applications.
  • Ability to translate complex UAV insights into actionable sales strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and business development.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and customer needs.
  • Passion for staying ahead of UAV innovations and regulatory changes.
  • Strong networking abilities and established connections within the industry.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales analytics tools.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications.
  • 10+ years industry-specific sales experience or combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience in business advisory or consulting preferred.
