Responsibilities:
Provide authoritative expertise in Support Equipment (SE) planning, analysis, acquisition, and sustainment to ensure compatibility with UAS platforms and ground operations.
Conduct technical assessments and provide recommendations for SE designs, including maintenance stands, handling fixtures, diagnostic equipment, and other mission-essential gear.
Evaluate packaging, handling, storage, and transportation (PHS&T) requirements for UAS systems and components to ensure compliance with military and DoD standards.
Analyze and validate packaging methods, container designs, preservation techniques, and transport strategies that support lifecycle cost reduction and mission readiness.
Coordinate with engineering, logistics, and transportation stakeholders to define proper asset configuration and transportation planning aligned with unit deployments and sustainment operations.
Support development and validation of documentation such as PHS&T plans, SE support strategies, and material handling procedures.
Provide subject matter input to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), design reviews, logistics assessments, and acquisition planning.
Advise the Government on technical risks and improvements related to specialized SE or PHS&T challenges encountered in UAS deployment and sustainment.
Ensure compliance with Army regulations, MIL-STD packaging specs, and DoD PHS&T policy.
Provide expertise that goes beyond standard labor categories—bringing niche knowledge of acquisition logistics, industrial processes, or complex system integration.
Education:
Preferred: Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctorate) in a technical, business, or management discipline from an accredited institution.
Acceptable: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field from an accredited college or university.
Experience:
Recognized as a specialist with unique capabilities or experience not typical of standard labor categories.
Minimum of 15 years of defense, industrial, or acquisition-related experience in a relevant field of expertise.
Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in complex acquisition, logistics planning, and support systems integration.
Clearance:
SECRET clearance required.
