Role Summary

As a Service Electrician, you will service, troubleshoot, and repair residential solar PV systems, including battery storage and EV charging equipment. You will diagnose electrical issues, perform maintenance and repairs, and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently in compliance with electrical codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair electrical issues in residential solar PV systems (wiring, inverters, panels, monitoring systems)

  • Service and maintain solar components including modules, inverters, junction boxes, and disconnects

  • Troubleshoot and repair battery storage systems and EV chargers

  • Identify system performance issues and electrical faults

  • Perform electrical testing and diagnostics (voltage, continuity, insulation resistance)

  • Complete preventative maintenance to improve system reliability

  • Repair or replace damaged wiring and system components

  • Install basic protective upgrades (critters, sealants, flashing) as needed

  • Document service work using mobile tools and apps

  • Communicate with homeowners regarding service and repairs

  • Follow NEC and all safety standards

  • Maintain clean and stocked company vehicle

  • Support field/install teams when needed


Requirements

  • Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license

  • Minimum 2 years of solar electrical experience

  • Commercial Solar experience is a plus 

  • Experience with Tesla battery systems and energy storage

  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair residential electrical systems

  • Familiarity with NEC code requirements

  • Ability to work on roofs, ladders, attics, and confined spaces

  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to use mobile devices for documentation

  • Valid driver’s license required 

  • Must pass background check and drug screening
