Solara Home Energy is hiring for Installer II.

  • This position requires the ability to work a 4x10s schedule. 
  • Clean MVR REQUIRED for use of company vehicle as needed. See MVR requirements below.

DUTIES

  • Execute installation of attachments, racking systems, micro-inverters, optimizers, inverters, rough electrical, finish electrical equipment etc. on 1-3 story new construction buildings.
  • Complete wiring and electrical connections between solar panels, inverters, and electrical panels.
  • Perform layout measurements and ensure panels are properly aligned and secured.
  • Seal and weatherproof roof penetrations to maintain roof integrity.
  • Install conduit, disconnects, and other safety equipment as required by electrical codes.
  • Maintain professional conduct and quality installation.
  • Complete and adhere to all safety training and protocol. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 2-years hands-on installations experience in new home construction or retro fit solar install required
  • Experience as a roof lead strongly preferred

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES: 

  • Basic understanding of the entire PV system, how it works, and the ability to install PV systems with minimal foreman oversight. 
  • Ability to explain the install process. 
  • Ability to follow safety protocol including PPE requirements. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Installations will be integrated into single family homes, multi-family homes, and apartment homes.

  • Ability to work on unlevel surfaces- installation application will range across all roof types.
  • Ability to perform construction at heights of 1-3 stories.
  • Ability to perform work requiring constant bending and twisting.
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs. 
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders constantly.
  • Ability to properly secure and wear PPE.
  • Ability to follow safety protocol and direction.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying degrees of weather.

Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Requirements: Acceptable Driving History Criteria
Eligibility is determined based on the driver’s Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and subject to insurance carrier approval. 

Violation Classifications:
Type A Violations (Major Offenses)

  • Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Operating While Intoxicated (OWI), or Operating Under the Influence (OUI)
  • Driving with a suspended or revoked license
  • Refusing a substance test
  • Reckless or careless driving
  • Hit and run / leaving the scene of an accident
  • Eluding a police officer
  • Aggravated assault or any felony involving a motor vehicle

Type B Violations (Significant Offenses)

  • At-fault accident
  • License suspension related to moving violations
  • Financial responsibility violations
  • Failure to report an accident
  • Permitting an unlicensed person to drive
  • Speeding 20 mph or more over the posted limit
  • Driving with an open container
  • Improper or excessive loads

Type C Violations (Minor Offenses)

  • Speeding (less than 20 mph over the limit)
  • Seat belt violations
  • Failure to yield
  • Improper lane change
  • Failure to obey traffic signal or sign
  • Use of a mobile communication device while driving
  • Illegal passing of a school bus

Violation and Exclusion Criteria:
Drivers are ineligible for Company driving privileges and insurance coverage if, within the preceding 36 months, they meet any of the following:

  • One (1) or more Type A violations
  • Two (2) or more Type B violations
  • Three (3) or more Type C violations
  • One (1) Type B violation in combination with two (2) Type C violations

The position follows a 4/10 work schedule (Four days/10-hour shifts per week)
