Roles and Responsibilities:
Manufacturing shop support for paint and thermal spray to drive business improvements (safety, quality, delivery, cost, scrap reduction, etc.)
Manage Repair Readiness Level (RRL) project plans from current state to RRL10
Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned individual and team projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/ program requirements.
Participate, present, and provide feedback using your experience and expertise in technical and program reviews
Guiding and standardizing manufacturing equipment capital expenditures
Contribute to and sign-off Standard Practice Manual (SPM) updates and improvements
Synergize and leverage New Make manufacturing process best practices
Coordinate with global MRO site-level special process owners (SPO) to leverage best practices, communicate lessons learned, and drive process improvements to achieve yield entitlement and best in class cost of ownership
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Ability to interpret engineering Engine Shop Manual (ESM) and Standard Practice Manual (SPM) requirements and institute best practices
Institutionalize LEAN practices to improve delivery
Standardize Quality Control Work Instructions in partnership with MRO global site-level Special Process Owners
Execute 259.08 special process audits
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of experience with thermal spray coating or painting (or a minimum high school diploma / GED with an additional 4+ years of experience with thermal spray coating or painting).
Desired Characteristics
Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul (MRO) shop or related manufacturing experience desired.
Understanding and ability to direct LEAN improvements.
Understanding of shop operations and manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated application of GD&T, GR&R, and SPC.
Greenbelt certification or extensive quality experience.
Solid project management skills and demonstrated history of effective horizontal leadership.
Ability to communicate with shop operators and business leaders to drive improvements.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to calculate and present business cases in support of change.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to identify problems and propose solutions.
Working knowledge of MS Office.
Ability to collaborate within a global network and peers.
