About the role:
As a Principal Thermal Hydraulic Methods Engineer, you will apply advanced modeling and simulation to support product and process design optimization, safety analysis and licensing activities
You will report to the Nuclear Fuel Engineering Manager of Reactor Technology and Methods. The position is located at our Global Headquarters in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania
This is a hybrid role - a mix of on-site and remote days, typically within the same week
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with experimental teams to correlate simulation results with test data
Implement new modeling tools and techniques to enhance capabilities
Lead work of other engineers and provide periodic performance feedback to them.
Coordinate and integrate complex technical projects that encompass multi-teams; achieve established budget and schedule requirements.
Develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related business products.
Qualifications:
8+ years of applicable experience
Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear, Mechanical or Materials Engineering
Experience leading the development and application of advanced thermal-hydraulics models for complex systems
Hands-on experience with multi-physics simulations, including heat transfer, fluid flow, structural mechanics and neutronics
Experience working with High Performance Computing environments with Linux-based systems
Proficiency in using system and sub-channel thermal-hydraulics codes
Experience with Verification, Validation and Uncertainty Quantification methods
Experience with Python scripting for automation, model working and workflow enhancement
Experience in statistical analysis of simulation and experimental data
Prepare technical documents for products/services.
Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics using commercial CFD codes such as ANSYS Fluent/CFX and Siemens STAR-CCM+
Familiarity with Machine Learning modeling techniques applied to engineering problems
Experience in Fluid Structure Interaction modeling and analysis
Experience with Generative Design and Topology Optimization
