Photographer Assistant

The Gameday Photography Assistant will support the Buffalo Bills Photography Team in creating industry leading visual content on game days and at select team events. This position includes assisting photographers, managing equipment, and ensuring a smooth gameday workflow. The ideal candidate is hungry to learn, organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about sports photography.

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Assist the Buffalo Bills photo team during home games.
• Carry, set up, and break down camera and lighting equipment.
• Help maintain camera gear and ensure all equipment is in working order.
• Manage memory cards and help with file transfers and backups in real time.
• Provide alternate-angle coverage of the game day experience, as assigned.
• Arrive early on gamedays to support setup and stay through the gear breakdown. 

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of relevant professional photography experience.
• Portfolio showcasing sports photography.
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, PhotoMechanic, Capture One, and Microsoft.
• Working knowledge of Sony Alpha cameras and Profoto Lights.

Work Environment

This job operates both in an office setting and in the field. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. Live event coverage consists of being around loud stadium noise as well as walking through crowds of fans.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, run, reach, stop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.

• Ability to operate, transport and manipulate camera equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions for prolonged periods of time, including severe cold and snow.
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate camera equipment.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work all Buffalo Bills home games.

The payrate for this position is $15.50/hour.
