Summary:  This position is responsible for photographing and providing raw digital/processed digital photography images of jewelry and other merchandise for use in web and print media and manage the workflow of projects to ensure deadlines are met. 

Essential Functions:

  • Self-direct personal production output based on management expectations and goals to meet project deadlines.
  • Take pictures of product/samples using existing sets and settings at multiple angles as described on photo guide, using focus stacking technique.
  • Take pictures of items for catalog covers, inserts, website, etc., deciding what type of lighting best suits the desired final image.
  • Edit and select images to be sent to graphics department to be stacked into final image.
  • Check stacked images for naming, angle code and quality, before sending to graphics department.
  • Perform maintenance tasks as necessary to keep equipment working properly and sets functional.
  • Work on product workflow, product placement, file identification and file management.
  • Interact with graphic design department to yield the best overall presentation of item(s) given to the studio for photography to meet the specifications from clients and Quality Gold standards.
  • Interact with catalog department to resolve issues regarding items to be photographed.
  • Regular attendance and compliance with the Company’s handbook policies and procedures.

Competency:

  • Must be able to work independently and manage own time.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
  • Strong oral communication skills required to convey ideas, workflow and managing timelines of project

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. 
  • Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. 
  • Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, grasping or lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to climb a step ladder or step stool to work on set.

Work Environment:  This position works within a room located in the secure warehouse area of the building.  Warehouse office environment is temperature controlled, however may be hot or cool at certain times.  Dust from packages and noises may vary from communications within the department.

Individuals working in the secure area are required to follow the companies Secure Area Dress Code and Security policies and procedures.  All clothing must be free from metal and no metal worn into the secure area of the building.  Any metal present inside or outside the body due to a medical condition must be visually inspected or reasonable accommodations may be made.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Full-time, Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime and Saturday work as needed or required to meet project deadlines.

Travel:  0% travel

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge in CaptureOne is preferred, but not required.
  • Prior photography experience is preferred, but not required.
