Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains appropriate radio/cell phone contact with Bus Operators on the job at all times during shift
  • Transmits information to and from Bus Operators to support timely and safe travel along defined routes
  • Notifies Bus Operators of customers that have canceled their ride or additional customer pick up/drop offs.
  • Provide logistic information to drivers, when needed
  • Maintain accurate transportation log
  • Fully document all incidents/accidents that are reported. These could be from drivers, customers or the public
  • Responds to Bus Operator requests for assistance from staff, and emergency assistance to police, fire, or ambulance personnel
  • Prepares written incident/accident reports on all events occurring within assigned shift
  • Communicates appropriately with Bus Operators and members of their chain of support. Notifies supervisor of tardy or absent drivers and requests replacement
  • Monitors radio communications and responds quickly to requests for assistance; coordinates emergency assistance responders within and outside of Shore Transit

Education and/or Experience

  • Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Mathematical Skills

Driver License

  • Preferred but not required. A valid Driver License with three or less points.
