Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Performs the following: 
    • Fluorescein and Indocyanine Angiography  
    • Fundus Photography 
    • External/anterior segment Photography 
    • OCT 
    • Ultrasound Anterior and Posterior  
  • Provides support such as clinic trial Photography/ OCT/ ultrasound 
  • Drawing up medications in a sterile fashion, intravenous injection and phlebotomy, and obtaining a manual blood pressure and pulse.  
  • Ability and knowledge in handling adverse reactions in patients and coordinating emergency situations. 
  • Ability to perform functions using job-related software and systems. 
  • Travel may be required to accommodate staffing levels at other clinical facilities. 
  • Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients. 
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned. 
  • Performs ERG duties as assigned  
    • Sets up and prepares patient for electrophysiology testing to be used in the diagnosis of inherited retinal and optic nerve diseases, toxic drug exposure, inflammatory conditions, intraocular foreign bodies, and retinal vascular occlusions. 
    • Analyzes test data acquired using available computer software protocols. 
    • Assembles preliminary test results into IHIS format to be finalized by the interpreting physician. 
    • Maintains equipment in good working order for daily testing. 
    • Works with equipment vendors to maintain and upgrade hardware/software to latest versions. 
  • Performs maintenance operations and calibration protocols on vestibular lab equipment. 
  • Archives patient data for secure storage and retrieval. 

 

Qualifications

Requirements: 

Possess a minimum of a HS Diploma or equivalent and meet the following criteria: 

 

Medical Photographer: 

  • 1 year of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and fundus photography experience.  

 

Lead Medical Photographer:  

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Medical Photographer, with at least 1 year working as Medical Photographer with the Department of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University. 

 

Preferences:  

  • 2 years of Ophthalmic Imaging background 
  • OCT Certification 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology 
  • Familiarity with Zeiss, Topcon, Optos, and Heidelberg Photographic systems 
  • Familiarity with operation of Ophthalmic Sonography A and B mode 
  • Associate's degree or higher in Ophthalmic Technology   

 

Pay Range

USD $22.80 - USD $34.21 /Hr.
