The Division of Public Relations and Marketing Communications (PRMC) at Georgia State University is hiring a Manager, Videography at its downtown Atlanta location.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

The Manager of Video is a hands-on creative leader within Georgia State University’s award-winning Video & Photography team. Serving as a player/coach, the manager oversees the video production pipeline, collaborates across departments, and guides a team of visual storytellers to create compelling content that supports the university’s mission, reputation, and marketing strategy. The role combines people leadership with on-set and post-production execution, ensuring consistent quality, accessibility, and brand alignment across platforms.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Directs, shoots, and edits high-impact video content for PR, marketing, campaigns, and digital channels.

  • Manages the full production workflow, including scheduling, creative briefs and approvals.

  • Coaches and reviews work from team members, student staff, and freelancers; ensures adherence to brand standards.

  • Oversees accessibility and compliance (captions, transcripts, rights/releases, music licensing).

  • Manages YouTube/Vimeo channel publishing, metadata/SEO, thumbnails, and reporting on performance.

  • Collaborates with photo, graphics, and design teams to align storytelling and art direction.

  • Maintains and enhances the digital asset library (metadata, taxonomy, retention).

  • Coordinates live/event and studio coverage; oversees equipment inventory and maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Portfolio of professional video work demonstrating end-to-end production, including examples of marketing and advertising campaign deliverables.
  • Expertise with professional cameras (DSLR/mirrorless/cinema), lighting, and audio equipment.

  • Advanced editing in Adobe Premiere; working knowledge of After Effects, Audition, and DaVinci Resolve.

  • Proven experience developing and executing content that supports marketing campaigns, strengthens brand positioning and engages target audiences.

  • Experience creating and editing video content tailored for diverse platforms (social, web, advertising and broadcast) as part of integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative, service-oriented approach.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG), captioning, and digital compliance practices.

  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems and metadata governance.

  • Experience with YouTube/Vimeo channel management, publishing workflows, and performance analytics.

  • Ability to work evenings/weekends if needed and travel for shoots; must lift and transport production gear.
