Our client is seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor (Project Manager) to lead survey operations for transportation and public‑works projects. This position manages both field and office teams, oversees project delivery, ensures QA/QC compliance, and serves as a primary client‑facing representative for survey assignments. The role combines technical leadership, project management, and staff development within a high‑performance survey group.

Requirements:

  • Lead and schedule multiple field crews performing boundary, topographic, SUE, and transportation‑related surveys.
  • Oversee survey computations, data review, preparation of plats, legal descriptions, and final deliverables.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, invoicing, and QA/QC processes.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, attending project and industry meetings as needed.
  • Mentor and develop survey staff, including goal setting, performance feedback, and technical guidance.
  • Support business development activities such as proposal input, pursuit strategy, and scope development.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive land‑surveying experience, including transportation, roadway, or municipal infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local surveying regulations.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet standard background‑screening requirements.
  • Authorization to work in the United States (or TN visa eligibility)

Preferred Skills:

  • Multistate PLS licensure.
  • Experience with SUE, aerial/LiDAR workflows, or sUAS‑based data collection.
  • Familiarity with DOT‑format deliverables and multi‑disciplinary project coordination.
