About the Role:

The Lead Surveyor will play a critical role in overseeing and managing surveying projects to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This position involves leading a team of surveyors and technicians, coordinating fieldwork, and analyzing data to produce precise land surveys. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed reports and documentation that support project objectives and client requirements. Additionally, the Lead Surveyor will engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate findings and provide expert recommendations. Ultimately, this role is essential for delivering high-quality surveying services that meet the needs of our diverse clientele in Wilkesboro and surrounding areas.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and surveying software.
  • Project management certification or experience managing large-scale surveying projects.
  • Familiarity with local zoning laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage surveying projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Conduct field surveys using advanced surveying equipment and technology to gather accurate data.
  • Analyze survey data and prepare comprehensive reports, maps, and legal descriptions for clients.
  • Supervise and mentor junior surveyors and technicians, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to discuss project requirements and deliverables.
