Job Overview
The Land Surveyor is crucial in assessing land and property boundaries, providing detailed measurements, and developing accurate plans for construction and development projects. The candidate will work closely with engineers, architects, and various stakeholders to ensure precise land assessments and compliance with local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct land surveys and prepare legal descriptions of surveys for use in various projects.
- Survey and map land surfaces to determine boundaries, consider topographical features, and assess land characteristics.
- Utilize advanced survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and digital levels for data collection.
- Analyze survey data, prepare reports, and assist in the design of infrastructure and land development projects.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in all surveying and land assessment projects.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to provide accurate survey information for project planning.
- Provide consultation and technical advice regarding land measurement and land use activities.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure that all records are accurate and up to date.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Active state licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or eligibility to obtain within one year.
- Proficient in land surveying software and technologies.
- Strong mathematical skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desired Experience
- A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in land surveying or a related field.
- Experience with project management and the ability to oversee multiple assignments.
- Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) applications.
- Knowledge of local zoning laws and environmental regulations.
