Instructors will provide training and course instruction to operators, analysts, military units, and other organizations that reflect current and relevant operations and tactics for various unmanned platforms and associated systems as assigned. Instructors will collaborate with the Training and Project Teams to ensure training is developed, planned, tracked, completed, reported, and provide any support necessary to ensure productivity, including designing specific training materials and curriculum, conducting needs assessments, and development new and/or updating existing materials/content to meet training requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

All Instructors will be responsible for:  

  • Leading, conducting, and/or participating in classroom, field, and computer based/aided training
  • Establishing and reviewing course content, updating course documentation to ensure training covers concepts of operations, operational requirements, and an understanding of performance specifications and sustainment techniques
  • Maintaining records of training activities, participant progress, and flight information
  • Maintaining operational condition of training equipment, performing Operator Level maintenance to maintain operational readiness
  • Interfacing with industry partners as required to ensure consistent inventory and readiness levels
  • Ensuring strict adherence to all applicable policy and directives
  • Accurately assessing student performance and providing required feedback
  • Assisting in the preparation of instructor materials such as course manuals, workbooks, handouts, completion certificates, and course evaluations forms
  • Staying current with new training, educational, and multimedia technologies
  • Maintaining current knowledge (currency) of all equipment and software utilized by our customers to provide training
  • Providing SME level operator and technical support
  • Participating in special projects within the scope of the Performance Work Statement (PWS), as required
  • Providing leadership and evaluation for other instructors, as assigned
  • Performing other duties as assigned


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED with at least 2 years of experience piloting applicable remote-controlled aircraft.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering instruction both individually and in groups
  • Must possess relevant professional certifications as appropriate for training topic.
  • Broad knowledge of the applicable unmanned systems and platforms
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License
  • Ability to pass FAA Class 2 medical screening
  • Ability to gain and maintain Range Safety Officer certification in support of training events
  • Ability to gain and maintain Laser Safety Officer certification in order to conduct laser ranges
  • Ability to gain and maintain FAA Part 107 certification
  • Ability to gain and maintain 4x4 drivers certification for government vehicles
  • Capability of lifting and carrying 40 lbs unassisted for short distances, standing and walking without rest for at least 1 hour, as well as performing required functions outdoors in variable conditions


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience operating unmanned applicable systems and platforms
  • Graduate of a formal instructor course
  • Expert knowledge of the applicable unmanned systems and platforms
  • Experience building, modifying, and/or maintaining applicable unmanned systems and platforms
  • Previous deployed military experience in support of UAS operations
  • Experience conducting Test and Evaluation of DoD systems helpful
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based collaborative resources such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams preferred
