High School CTE Teacher - CAD (Architecture/Drafting and Design)
Position Purpose
The High School Architecture CAD Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in architectural drafting and computer-aided design (CAD), using state-aligned curriculum and performance standards. The teacher will equip students with technical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills essential for careers in drafting, engineering, architecture, and related fields.
Essential Functions
Instructional Duties:
- Deliver engaging lessons aligned with Arkansas Drafting and Design Standards.
- Teach drafting safety protocols, tool/equipment handling, and ergonomic best practices.
- Provide instruction in both traditional drafting techniques and computer-aided drafting systems.
- Prepare students to create construction-ready architectural drawings using CAD software.
- Guide students through career exploration and post-secondary drafting/architecture pathways.
Career Preparation and CTSO Integration:
- Promote student participation in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) such as SkillsUSA.
- Coach students for success in competitive drafting and design events.
- Highlight real-world applications, career pathways, and professional organization involvement.
Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the School Principal and other Central Office Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Arkansas teaching license with certification in Drafting, Architecture, or related CTE endorsement or 2 years experience as a professional in the Architecture Field.
- Demonstrated proficiency in CAD software and architectural drafting.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and technical drawing standards.
Preferred:
- Industry experience in architecture, engineering, or construction.
- Experience teaching or training in a high school or post-secondary setting.
- Familiarity with CTSO programs such as SkillsUSA.
- Ability to lead project-based learning and student design showcases.
- Part 107 UAS Drones Certification or willingness to obtain certification
