FAA Palantir Data Engineer (Hybrid | Wash, DC | Public Trust)

Strategic Innovation Group (SIG) seeks a Palantir Foundry Data Engineer with AI experience to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This is an exempt full-time position that will support efforts to modernize and streamline FAA data services. The candidate must possess hands-on experience designing and supporting scalable data pipelines, integrating AI/ML models, and deploying analytics solutions within the Palantir Foundry environmen. Candidate should have proficiency in the Palantir Foundry platform, with extensive experience across applications such as Slate, Workshop, Data Pipeline, and AIP Logic as well as skills in implementing core Foundry features, including Actions, Data Objects, Ontology, and Link Objects.

$135,000 to $165,000+

A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering are required. U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to federal contract requirements. Experience with FAA, DOT, or other federal government contracts is preferred.

Additionally, this position is expected to be generally remote, with occasional visits to the office and FAA facilities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and workflows in Palantir Foundry.
• Integrate AI/ML models into Foundry workflows to support predictive analytics and decision-making.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and FAA stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and compliance with FAA standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
• Document architecture, processes, and best practices.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years relevant experience
• Experience working with AI/ML models and integrating them into data workflows
• Knowledge of data engineering tools, platforms, and methods to support pipeline development, data integration, and advanced analytics in Palantir Foundry and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP)
• 3+ Years experience using SQL and a scripted language, preferably Python
• Proficient in the Palantir Foundry platform, with extensive experience across applications such as Slate, Workshop, Data Pipeline, and AIP Logic. Skilled in implementing core Foundry features, including Actions, Data Objects, Ontology, and Link Objects.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of experience working with Palantir Foundry, including pipeline development and data transformation
• Experience supporting federal clients or working in a professional services environment
• Demonstrated initiative and adaptability in dynamic, data-driven projects
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools
• Ability to quickly learn and align with SIG's technology stack and delivery approach
• Experience with libraries - scikit-learn, pyTorch or Tensorflow
• Hand-on experience with hyper tuning AL/ML classification models
• Experience with Spark performance tuning
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes

Must have ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
