Position Overview
The Director of Outside DMC leads and develops the DMC sales, operations, and administrative team while driving revenue growth. This role requires a strategic, results-driven leader who excels at team building, sales growth, delivering outstanding client experiences and building relationships. The Director will foster a high-performing, collaborative culture while increasing Outside DMC’s market presence and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
• Lead, mentor, and inspire the DMC team to achieve sales and service excellence.
• Foster a professional, positive, and results-driven work environment.
• Provide hands-on training and ongoing development for staff.
• Conduct performance reviews and set clear goals for the team.
Sales & Business Growth
• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive revenue and market share.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event planners, and hospitality partners.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including luxury and corporate event markets.
• Collaborate with the Sales & Business Development team to assign and manage leads effectively.
• Track lead alignment progress throughout the sales cycle, ensuring seamless follow-through to contract signature.
• Analyze sales team accounts to identify challenges, maximize opportunities, and drive profitability.
• Meet personal sales goals while supporting the team in exceeding theirs.
Operational Excellence & Client Experience
• Oversee program execution, ensuring seamless logistics and top-tier client service.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations to optimize processes and event delivery.
• Manage key hotel and corporate account partnerships.
• Lead weekly sales meetings and provide strategic direction.
• Works collaboratively with the Director of Operations
• Co-manages and/or spearheads specific hotel account partnerships where needed
Strategic Partnerships & Market Expansion
• Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in Hilton Head, Savannah, and beyond.
• Identify and develop new partnership opportunities to expand DMC’s presence.
• Represent Outside DMC in industry events, networking functions, and cross-destination sales initiatives.
Who You Are
We’re looking for a high-energy, sales-driven leader who thrives in the fast-paced world of luxury travel, corporate events, and destination management.
• Sales Powerhouse – 5+ years of proven success in sales, preferably in luxury travel, event planning, or hospitality.

• Market Expert – Deep knowledge of the Lowcountry’s top venues, vendors, and exclusive experiences.

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years in a DMC leadership role or 10+ years in hospitality sales, including at least 7 years at a management level.
• Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and motivate a team to do the same.
• Strong mentoring, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Availability for events, which may include evenings and weekends.
• CMP or DMCP certification preferred.
