Job Summary

Aerial Lineman will be responsible for aerial new build and maintenance of communication facilities which includes fiber and coaxial cable.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Understand the functionality of equipment, including, but not limited to an aerial lift device, lasher, and hand tools.
  • Operate and maintain equipment, including, but not limited to an aerial lift device, lasher, and hand tools.
  • Ensures proper working condition of all equipment before use.
  • Perform new build and maintenance on aerial jobs.
  • Identify and trouble shoot aerial related problems.
  • Maintain and complete aerial construction projects.
  • Complete all job-related paperwork in a timely manner
  • Work safely, with or without supervision, following all company and OSHA related health and safety rules.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with customers, co-employees and third parties..
  • If a Lead Crewman, manage and train lower crewmen
  • Work in urban environment with excellent people skills
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient in: Telecom aerial construction; Pole climbing; Fiber/coax construction (new build and maintenance/repair); Lashing; Overlash; Delash/Relash; Coax drops repair; Ladder work; Tree trimming; Bucket truck operations
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions
  • Valid driver’s license required. CDL a plus
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience required
  • NESC knowledge is a plus
  • Coax splicing and activation knowledge a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work standing, lifting arms at shoulder height and overhead, for extended periods in various weather conditions
  • Ability to work aloft, either from a ladder, aerial lift device, or by pole gaffing, often lifting weights 50-75 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Must have manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools and equipment.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
  • Must be able to hear well enough to receive verbal instructions from a distance.
