DescriptionIndividuals serving as UAS Maintainers - Mechanic II are required to provide Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Maintenance Support to perform scheduled and unscheduled field-level maintenance in support of the Fort Huachuca Unmanned Aircraft Systems Maintenance Services at multiple flight lines and/or Maintenance Training Facilities, as directed and on various shifts.
Requirements and Duties
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, service, and repair all components of Group 1,2 and 3 UAS IAW maintenance technical manuals and applicable aviation maintenance regulations.
- Perform emplace, displace, inspections, troubleshooting, and repair of UAS related to ground support equipment.
- Prepare detailed reports for troubleshooting, maintenance actions, and repairs.
- Use appropriate hand and power tools for maintenance, assembly, and disassembly of UAS components.
- Transport UAS and associated support equipment safely between work and flight operational areas.
- Understand and apply UAS operational and safety regulations during all maintenance and handling operations.
- Maintain awareness of Flight and Ground Operation procedures and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Stand for extended periods (>1 hour), bend, squat, or work in confined positions under equipment.
- Lift up to 30 pounds individually or as part of a team when required.
- Document all maintenance actions into electronic or paper logbooks.
RequirementsRequired:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in UAS, aviation, or electronics maintenance (documented).
- Experience in U.S. Army aviation maintenance or equivalent military/civilian environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Flexible to perform shift work as required to support mission needs.
- Must possess or be eligible for a U.S. Secret Clearance.
- Ability to pass a medical examination (physical).
Highly Desired:
- CFD-IC (formally ABIC) certification.
- FAA Part 107 certification.
- Flight Operations (CONUS/OCONUS) experience.
- Groups 1, 2 and or 3 sUAS/UAS course training with certification of completion.
- Electronics/RF systems knowledge (BET) and familiarity with battery systems (specifications, upkeep, charging/discharging).
- Weight and Balance experience.
- Tool room operations knowledge.
- Experience with Quality Control (QC) and Production Control (PC) processes.
- 3D printing and scanning capability.
- Familiarity with DART systems.
- Knowledge of UAS operational safety, regulations, and compliance procedures.

- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work/military experience.
- RQ-7B Shadow 200, 15E Course graduate or equivalent 15 series MOS - Desired
