The ideal candidate brings extensive field experience, strong instructional skills, and the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Deliver thermography certification and application training in alignment with established course materials, governing standards (e.g., ASNT, ISO), and internal quality expectations.
- Teach approximately 33–35 instructor-led courses annually across classroom, onsite, and virtual environments.
- Lead engaging lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and practical exercises for adult technical learners.
- Adapt instructional methods to support students with varying technical backgrounds, experience levels, and learning styles.
- Maintain a high standard of classroom management, promoting professionalism, safety, and active participation.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to students regarding certification pathways, skill development, and real-world application of thermography principles.
- Evaluate student comprehension through quizzes, practical assessments, and certification exams, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning and progression.
- Support exam administration processes, including secure handling of materials and adherence to established testing protocols.
Curriculum Development
- Contribute to the development, revision, and continuous improvement of course materials, practical exercises, examinations, and digital learning resources.
- Support the creation and enhancement of online and hybrid training programs.
- Ensure curriculum content remains aligned with evolving industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices in thermography and nondestructive testing (NDT).
- Collaborate with internal employees to identify training gaps, incorporate field feedback, and enhance course relevance.
- Integrate real-world case studies, application examples, and failure analysis into training materials to strengthen practical understanding.
- Continuously evaluate course effectiveness using student feedback, performance data, and outcomes, implementing improvements as needed.
Customer Support & Professional Representation
- Serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to customers, students, and industry professionals, providing authoritative guidance on thermography applications, standards, and best practices.
- Deliver responsive post-training support, assisting students with real-world implementation, troubleshooting, and interpretation of thermographic data.
- Represent the Infrared Training Center at industry conferences, trade shows, and webinars.
- Contribute to and support the development of technical articles, white papers, case studies, and application notes, that strengthen thought leadership in thermography.
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, providing feedback on training needs, field challenges, and emerging application trends.
Education / Experience / Technical Knowledge
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, applied science, or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical disciplines will also be considered.
- Proven hands-on experience performing infrared inspections and condition assessments in industrial, manufacturing, utility, or facility environments.
- Working knowledge of electrical safety practices and procedures, including safe work boundaries, PPE requirements, and risk mitigation when operating near energized systems.
- Experience working around energized equipment and within controlled industrial environments, with a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.
- Strong practical understanding of infrared imaging technology and heat transfer principles as they apply to real-world applications.
- Familiarity with complementary predictive maintenance (PdM) technologies, such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, and oil analysis, as well as other reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies
