Thermal & Mechanical Engineering – Advanced Packaging
Our team develops thermo‑mechanical solutions for Marvell’s advanced semiconductor packages powering next‑generation data‑center products at 224 Gb/s and beyond. We drive thermal architecture, mechanical integrity, and material strategy, collaborating with SI/PI, package design, Operations, and Reliability to deliver high‑performance, manufacturable, and reliable packaging technologies at scale.

What You Can Expect

This internship offers hands-on experience in thermal and mechanical simulation using Ansys Mechanical and ICEPAK. The role involves:

  • Performing thermal and mechanical simulations to support design and validation efforts.
  • Conducting lab measurements and validation testing on Marvell Thermal Test Vehicle packages.
  • Developing and using scripts for data collection, analysis, and interpretation to ensure accurate performance insights.

Ideal candidates should have a strong interest in simulation tools, data analysis, and practical lab work.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently pursuing a undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong foundation in thermal and mechanical analysis, including familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools (e.g., Ansys Mechanical, Icepak).
  • Experience or coursework in materials behavior, heat transfer, and structural mechanics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and scripting (Python or similar) for automation and interpretation of results.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a cross‑functional engineering environment.

Expected Base Pay Range (USD)

28 - 55, $ per hour.

The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
