In this role, you will:
Set vehicle heat-protection targets, communicate the vision, develop development plans, and lead cross-functional teams.
Cascade requirements to subsystems, establish best practices, and integrate thermal considerations early.
Lead heat-protection workstreams, support testing and validation, analyze risk data, and ensure milestone progress.
Present updates on heat protection status, track issues, and report status to the wider vehicle attribute team
Track open issues and ensure progress to closure using Zoox systems (Jira, Confluence)
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
8+ years of experience in thermal engineering or heat transfer applications, and a strong understanding of passive thermal management techniques
Experience with thermal design and development, and vehicle-level testing and validation
Experience in component integration and attributes management, preferably within the automotive sector
Proficiency in thermal analysis tools and data analysis (Ansys Icepak)
Bonus Qualifications
MS or PhD in relevant engineering discipline
Previous experience working in advanced or early concept phases
Familiarity with fleet data analysis and monitoring systems
Background in design for manufacturing and reliability
$164,000 - $225,000 a year
Base Salary Range
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. The listed range applies only to the base salary. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
