DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY
- The Technical Sales Project Specialist – Thermal is responsible for managing and coordinating cross-functional activities related to the scheduling and execution of factory witness tests and the administration of customer factory experience visits. This role ensures alignment among manufacturing, engineering, lab operations, and sales teams while delivering consistent, professional, and customer-focused experience at Vertiv laboratory and manufacturing facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lab Scheduling & Prioritization
- Develop, coordinate, and manage witness test schedules across Vertiv laboratory locations.
- Prioritize testing activities based on manufacturing readiness, production timelines, customer requirements, and lab capabilities.
- Mitigate scheduling conflicts and ensure effective use of lab resources and personnel.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, lab operations, and sales teams to ensure alignment on test objectives, readiness, and logistical requirements.
- Facilitate timely and clear communication to reduce delays and ensure full preparation for scheduled tests and customer interactions.
- Verify the availability and readiness of all required documentation, materials, equipment, and personnel prior to testing.
Process Oversight & Documentation
- Monitor the execution of scheduled tests and promptly escalate issues that may impact timelines, quality, or customer satisfaction.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of test reports, certifications, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain and report on key performance metrics, including test completion rates, scheduling performance, and customer visit feedback.
Customer Engagement & Factory Experience Visits
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all customer witness tests and factory experience visits.
- Coordinate all logistics for customer visits, including travel coordination, site access, agendas, hospitality, and guided factory tours.
- Provide clear and consistent communication regarding test protocols, schedules, expectations, and changes.
- Support broader customer engagement activities to ensure a structured, professional, and positive experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of experience in project coordination or project management, preferably within HVAC, cooling systems, or data center infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience supporting customer-facing technical projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities, particularly in customer-facing environments.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) and ERP systems.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- No special physical requirements.
TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Travel to Vertiv lab locations as required (up to 25%) to support priority witness tests and key customer engagements.
- Provide on-site coordination, customer hosting, and real-time issue resolution during major events and visits.
