The purpose of this job is to create a detailed seismic stratigraphic framework for sedimentary horizons and units in central Ross Sea to understand how, when and why Ross Bank formed. The work will utilize the available seismic data, both on Petrel and in hardcopy formats. An important aspect of this work will be to generate a conceptual model that explains Ross Bank formation.
Duties Include:
60% Map the time-structure and time-thickness of Pleistocene (units 1-4), Pliocene (units 4 and 6), late Miocene (unit 7 and 8), middle Miocene (Unit 9), early Miocene (Units 10 and 11) and late Oligocene (units 12 and 13) in central Ross Sea using 2301 and legacy seismic grids.
20% Prepare and format a written description and interpretation of these data.
20% Format the article for submission to a peer-reviewed journal in consultation with Dr. Philip Bart.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Geology or related Geosciences.
