JOB SUMMARY
Campus Recreation seeks a dynamic and creative Student Photographer/Videographer with an interest in sports photography and video content creation. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for an up-and-coming, talented student photographer to hone their skills and contribute to the visual storytelling of the Campus Recreation’s vibrant programs, events, and activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Capture Dynamic Action Shots
· Attend and photograph various contests and events, capturing exciting moments, participant intensity and emotion.
· Experiment and utilize photography techniques to capture fast-paced action for compelling visuals.
Video Content Creation
· Record and edit engaging video content for social media, including highlight reels and live footage of events, programs, and activities.
· Collaborate with marketing team to assist in the production of promotional media showcasing the department's programs.
Collaborate with Program Directors
· Work closely with the program directors to ensure comprehensive coverage of program events and activities with both photography and videography.
· Collaborate with program directors, club sport officers and Campus Rec staff to understand the key moments and stories that need to be highlighted.
Event Coverage
· Attend and document a variety of campus recreation events, including games, tournaments, and competitive activities.
· Capture the energy and excitement of these events through compelling photography and videography.
Equipment Management
· Ensure proper care, maintenance, and safekeeping of departmental photography and video equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Photography and Videography Skills
· Ability to think creatively and capture unique and compelling moments.
· Willingness to experiment with new techniques to enhance the visual storytelling process.
· Demonstrated abilities in photography/videography.
· Experience with both photo and video editing software a plus, but not required.
· Familiarity with various cameras, lenses, and video equipment.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills to cover multiple events and projects.
· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
· Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
