Atlantic Lift Systems is hiring a Senior Heavy Equipment Rental Technician to maintain and repair our rental fleet of forklifts, aerial lifts, and related construction equipment. This is a rental-focused role—you’ll be the person who keeps our fleet ready to roll, turning around returned units quickly, performing pre-delivery inspections, and handling complex diagnostic work that less experienced techs can’t. If you’ve worked in a heavy equipment rental shop and you enjoy variety, fast turnarounds, and owning the tough jobs, we want to talk to you.
• Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair our rental fleet, including:
? Articulating boom lifts (diesel and electric)
? Towable boom lifts
? Scissor lifts
? Forklifts
? Earth moving equipment
? Compaction equipment
? Generators
? Other related construction equipment
• Perform pre-delivery inspections and annual ANSI/OSHA compliance inspections to keep fleet units rental-ready.
• Lead complex repair projects that require more than one technician, serving as the senior tech on the job.
• Diagnose and repair Tier 4 diesel engines, high-pressure common rail fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems (including DC electrical systems on battery-powered lifts).
• Read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, service manuals, and OEM specifications.
• Assess parts needs, coordinate with the parts department, and keep multiple machines moving at once (you’ll often have two or more units assigned).
• Prepare parts lists and labor estimates for customer-owned equipment coming through the shop.
• Document repairs, maintenance, and inspection records accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Share knowledge with junior techs and help raise the whole team’s game.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience repairing aerial lifts, forklifts, or construction equipment in a heavy equipment rental environment.
• Direct experience servicing articulating boom lifts, towable boom lifts, and scissor lifts—both diesel and electric.
• Experience servicing earth moving equipment, compaction equipment, and generators.
• JLG product knowledge is a plus (Genie, Skyjack, or similar OEM experience also valuable).
• Strong working knowledge of Tier 4 engines and high-pressure common rail systems.
• Proven ability to diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems independently, including battery/DC systems on electric lifts.
• Comfortable reading electrical/hydraulic schematics and technical manuals.
• Able to manage multiple repairs simultaneously without losing track.
• Solid communication skills and basic computer skills for service tickets and documentation.
• Own your hand tools (Atlantic Lift Systems provides brand-specific specialty tools).
• 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
• 30-minute unpaid lunch, two 15-minute paid breaks.
• Overtime paid for all hours over 40 per week.
• $1,285–$1,685/week depending on experience.
At Atlantic Lift Systems, we invest in our people. We offer a comprehensive benefits package covering health, financial security, and professional development, including industry-specific training and continuous learning opportunities to help you grow your career.
