Senior Creative Photographer

The JSUTV Department at Jackson State University is accepting applications for its Senior Creative Photographer position.  The Senior Creative Photographer is responsible for executing the filming of all show content and any additional content needing to be filmed for JSU-TV and/or the Media department. This position will heavily aid the production team in producing multi-platform programming, as well as digital and social media content, and support the television stations' full spectrum of programming and initiatives, including both live and pre-recorded events. As a proven initiative-taker and team player, the Senior Creative Photographer is hands-on with assisting the creative vision and aiding acumen to skillfully guide a high-energy, fast-paced culture talent and production crew when necessary. The Senior Creative Photographer is an experienced photographer tasked with all facets of executing the filming of all non-traditional news shows, sports broadcasts, university functions, and community events. This includes any special programming, commercials, and content as assigned by the General Manager. The Senior Creative Photographer is charged with asset management and creative compliance. The Senior Creative Photographer reports to the Production Manager.  There are no direct reports currently.

• Film, produce, and deliver the relevant non-traditional news shows, sports, and additional content assigned.

• Assist in any sports production for JSU and community events when needed.

• Aid with the digital and/or social media assets required for linear television, digital and social media engagement, including linear and digital platforms such as  Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and Snapchat applications.

• Filming content to quality standards, meeting deadlines, and adhering to proper procedures, as assigned by management.

• Maintain and nurture relationships with the creative and production team members.

• Contribute to the production of various promotional materials that are created by the creative work group.

• Aid in updating and maintaining the online JSU-TV digital programming.

• Collaborate with the creative team and the studio environment to ensure projects can get completed in a timely manner when the studio is needed.

• Oversee and delegate responsibilities to the production members on production shoots.

• Participate in community outreach activities sponsored by the company.

• Effectively collaborate with the various JSU department leaders, ad sales clients, and community partners to produce creative, impactful, and efficient messaging.

• Maintain an expert working knowledge of all production and anti-post-production resources, including studios, cameras, lighting, audio, editing systems, and graphic programs.

• Follow and enforce the company's policies and procedures, including the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines and safety at all times.

• Perform any miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• Ten years of experience working in a program development environment is required.

• Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and codecs for web video preferred.
