What Will I Be Doing as a Retail Solar Consultant?

  • Participate extensively in direct customer engagement activities, mastering the initial contact process for solar retail services from introductions to qualified lead generation.
  • Work closely with experienced Sales Managers, observing best practices in customer education, engagement, and effective communication.
  • Assist in tracking individual and team lead generation metrics, analyzing data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Help facilitate informative discussions for new and existing customers, focusing on the benefits of solar technology and available incentives.
  • Support the development and communication of clear lead generation targets and objectives for the team, ensuring alignment with campaign goals.
  • Provide on-the-ground support to potential solar clients, assisting with initial inquiries, addressing common concerns, and ensuring smooth information flow.
  • Offer insights from customer interactions to help refine engagement strategies, messaging, and outreach tactics for the Solar Retail campaign.
  • Foster a positive and motivating team environment, building strong rapport with colleagues and leading by example in customer interaction.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to lead tracking, reporting, and customer data organization.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments such as sales and operations to enhance lead qualification processes and ensure timely, effective customer follow-up

What Do I Need to Bring to the Table as a Retail Solar Consultant?

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • 0–2 years of experience in leadership or customer-facing roles such as retail sales or service, with demonstrated strength in communication and active listening.
  • A strong, proven work ethic and a clear desire to develop into a customer engagement expert.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inform and inspire others about solar solutions.
  • Natural leadership qualities including the ability to take initiative and guide conversations effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret customer interest data and identify actionable insights.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail or event environment.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and a proactive problem-solver with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Proficient in basic computer applications; willing and aptitude to learn CRM and lead tracking software.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
