Summary
The construction manager leads, plans, and coordinates activities pertaining to the construction and maintenance of solar projects in accordance with company policies and governmental regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Organizes, plans, directs, coordinates, and reports onsite construction activities under the pillars of Safety, Schedule and Cost.
- Responsible for managing construction managers, assistant construction managers, and field crews for an entire region where NES is in active construction.
- Assure compliance with Company safety policies and OSHA,NFPA 70eand/or MSHA safety standards.
- Works with Project Management team on the construction effort from estimating, management, and scheduling.
- Manages all sub-contractors for timely completion, quality; ensures project is built according to design plans, specifications, schedule, quality standards and budget.?
- Key participant in design and constructability reviews and project turnover from engineering to construction. Train, mentor, and lead Construction Managers and Assistant Construction Managers on Novel and customer safety, quality, and other applicable standards
- Works with construction management teams and foremen to manage all field crew personnel:
- Electricians
- Laborers
- Operators
- Coordinating QAQC
- Coordinating Staking
- Negotiates pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to fall within industry market pricing and provides competitive customer bid.
- Reads, interprets and understands all project documentation such as insurance, permitting and project scheduling.
- Ensures region compliance to all safety, environmental, quality and commissioning requirements.
- Makes daily updates to current project schedules via Procore.
- Documents delays/changes; sets up staging areas as needed.
- Maintain, document, and monitor quality standards.
- Report to the management team all projects progress, new issues, resolutions, and budget and schedule compliance on a consistent basis.
- Act as a trouble shooter on current projects.
- Seek cost savings through vendor negotiations, market analysis, and eliminating waste.
- Provide daily reports to the Director of Construction.
- Inventory project materials.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position manages all subcontractors and direct employees for assigned projects, while reporting to the Construction Leadership time the status of assigned projects
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently inspect the project and will be exposed to ongoing construction and various weather conditions. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.

The employee must also occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and color vision. Must be able to drive a vehicle.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position and requires longer hours and frequent weekend work.
Travel
Frequent Travel between Illinois and Minnesota
Required Education and Experience
- Associate degree or comparable experience in construction technology
- Five years minimum of supervisory experience in related field?
- Experience working on +1MW Solar Projects with leadership experience
- Experience dealing with subcontracts, subcontractors and/or self-perform work?
- Proficiency with reading blueprints, plans, specs, contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders?
- Proficiency with Office 365 software and programs
- Proficiency with Procore or other construction management software
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- OSHA 10 Certified
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field
- OSHA 30 Certified
- Proficiency in Gantt charts and MS Projects
- First aid certified
- Fall training certified
