Job Summary

The Product Specialist - Thermal Controls role is responsible for managing a portfolio of Thermal Unit Controls Offerings.  This includes Voice of Customer (VOC) research, requirements capture, New Product Development Process support, and general team interfacing to teams inside and outside of Vertiv.  This key position ensures current offerings are maintained with new products always improving by incorporating stake-holder requirements.  Key deliverable expectations are technical specifications, business case calculations, oversight and confirmation of related deliverables, customer facing presentations, internal presentations for support and training purposes, and process efficiency development.  This position is a forward-thinking position in ensuring controls architectures, deployments, and advanced technologies implemented align with industry technologies not currently available in the market.

This position will be based onsite at Vertiv's Westerville, OH location.

Responsibilities:

  • ​​Develop and execute product lifecycle management plans including product introduction, line extension, engineered to order, and end of production.
  • Drive product line profitability through VAVE/Cost reduction efforts
  • Identify, evaluate, and drive additional revenue opportunities through product extensions.
  • Research market trends, demand drivers, customer needs, and the competitive landscape.
  • Ensure all customer facing offering documentation and marketing collateral is available and accurate.
  • Provide offering information to Customers, Sales, Customer Service and Application Engineering.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, product demos, and other sales enablement tools.
  • Develop and track metrics to measure post-launch sales performance of new offerings.
  • Manage product line profitability and volume forecasts.
  • Manage list pricing and discounts, research competitive pricing and develop strategy
  • Assist in championing resolution of offering issues (i.e., delivery, quality, inventory)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical degree.  Business experience preferred.
  • 5+ years technical, product/service management, strategic planning, marketing or directly related experience.
  • Ability to quickly develop cross-functional and cross-regional relationships to achieve business objectives
  • Demonstrated competence in problem solving, data analysis, & project management
  • Process and results oriented with proven ability to accomplish goals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Smartsheet, and other business applications
  • Excellent communications skills – written & verbal

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Data Center industry and lifecycle
  • Software Development Process knowledge
  • Controls or networking experience
  • UX (User Experience) process knowledge
