Position Summary

The Product Manager for the Solar Division will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the growth strategy for our Solar Lifecycle product category through high energy engagement and execution. The product manager will align efforts with sales, purchasing, management and other teams to drive product innovation, meet and exceed market expectations, and achieve business objectives as the entrepreneurial champion for the business. They will collaborate extensively with the marketing team to shape the public identity of the business, establishing a strong brand presence, and positioning it as a leader in the industry,

Responsibilities 

Market Share Growth

  • Creating and managing the line definition, offering, and message
  • Observing industry, consumer behavior, competition, and economic conditions within specific geographic areas
  • Keeping an eye on larger economic indicators such as inflation, interest rates, global trade, and overall market trends that influence the industry worldwide.
  • Managing and overseeing periodic evaluations of product lines, which would include assessing performance, gathering feedback, and making recommendations for improvements or adjustments to align with customer needs and market trends.
  • Driving strategic initiatives to ensure the company’s products stand out in the industry. This involves market analysis, competitive benchmarking, and implementing tactics to position the brand as a leader in its category.

Lifecycle Management

  • Create a product pipeline and announcement flow
  • Educate market on offerings and what sets us as a market leader
  • Identify new market segments and position products to best serve the market
  • Advocate for enhancements to best serve the market
  • Properly position pricing and product offerings
  • Customer Support
  • Monitor competitive product, features, performance
  • Search for new product opportunities
  • Provide strong product content accuracy
  • Deliver existing and new customer collateral/training material
  • Create and manage a best-in-class catalog
  • Provide effective training – in person, digital, social, virtual

Minimum Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, preferred

  • Proven experience in product management, preferably in industrial and solar spaces

  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results 

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and decision-making 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels 

  • Strategic thinker with a passion for innovation and driving business growth

  • A curiosity around the industrial/solar space, with a strong ability to continuously learn about products, technologies, and customer needs

  • Up to 35% travel including potential (limited) international. 

  • Travel primarily to trade shows, customer sites
