Under direction of the Director of Communications and Public Relations, the Photographer/Videographer will execute work in support of NWACC’s Public Relations and Marketing departments on a variety of projects. The Photographer/Videographer will take and edit photos and videos for NWACC’s Public Relations and Marketing department. They will provide content for NWACC’s marketing efforts such as social media, digital ads, website, special events and more. This position is also responsible for taking photos for campus events for department and college use. In most cases, this position will be the sole staff member responsible for taking and editing photos and video, but in some instances, such as larger events, there may be additional support. This is an onsite position, no remote work.

Essential Duties:

• Capture, edit, and produce photos and videos for social media, website, digital/print ads, and other marketing platforms.
• Plan and create promotional videos, including scouting, interviewing, storyboarding, storytelling, production, editing, and branding to engage target audiences.
• Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Public Relations to develop compelling visual narratives that highlight the college, its divisions, programs, and events.
• Provide photography and videography coverage of college events, including headshots of students and employees, ensuring timely delivery of edited materials.
• Schedule and execute photoshoots in alignment with marketing standards, while building and maintaining the college’s public-facing photo library (SharePoint and Flickr) with organized, metadata-tagged files.
• Monitor college announcements and calendars to ensure comprehensive event coverage and deliver photos/videos to event leads within established timelines.
• Lead biannual training sessions for faculty, staff, and student workers on basic photography and videography techniques.
• Maintain and manage photography/videography equipment, recommending upkeep and repairs, while ensuring reliable attendance and strong professional collaboration.
• Any other related duties as required or assigned.

Rate of Pay: $21.00 per hour *Higher compensation may be considered based on qualifications directly related to position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in photography, videography, or related field
• At least two years of experience in marketing or public relation photography
• Will consider substitution of degree requirements based on verified experience
• Portfolio with examples of work

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro) and Final Cut Pro in a Mac environment, with strong knowledge of digital photography/videography, color grading, and evolving social media platforms.
• Experience in commercial, lifestyle, and public relations photography, including environmental portraits; skilled at staging, posing, and directing subjects during shoots.
• Hands-on expertise with professional equipment (studio lights, flash, microphones, etc.) and ability to manage multiple complex projects, events, and campaigns simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills; detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Commitment to deadlines, flexibility for occasional evening/weekend events, ability to work on-site, and possession (or willingness to obtain) FAA Part 107 Drone Certification.
