Job Summary
The Manager, Systems Application Engineering is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of systems application engineers, providing direction for team members by assigning and prioritizing projects while setting expectations on results and timing.  The Data Center Systems Application Engineering Manager works with Vertiv Sales to identify customer requirements for potential sales.   As orders for equipment are received and processed through detailed engineering, the Data Center Systems Application Engineering Manager ensures that sufficient resources within the team are available to meet scheduled deadlines that satisfy the required delivery dates.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project assignments to SAE team members, monitoring workload of individuals and providing input on project requirements.  Support needs of the team, providing technical planning for assigned projects.
  • Interface with Vertiv Sales to identify customer requirements for specific projects and set priorities.
  • Provide input toward design concepts used on specific projects, along with planning toward technical tools used by team.
  • Work with project managers and team members to ensure that project tasks are completed on time to meet customer requirements.
  • Administer review process for deliverables from team to identify areas for improvement and correction.
  • Evaluate performance of team members.      
  • Identify areas for training and career growth.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in design and engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of psychrometrics, fan technologies, direct expansion, chilled water, and evaporative cooling technologies. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, EXCEL, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization including solid presentation skills and experience. 
  • Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be action-oriented to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethics. 
  • Must have the ability to analyze data and problem solve. 
  • Travel:  Up to 10%
