Job Description:
The Manager of Destination Experiences is responsible for working with Crystal’s selected tour operators and other vendors to develop the specific requirements and detailed tour descriptions for luxury shore excursion programs ashore for guests and guests while sailing on a Crystal vessel.
Essential Functions:
Build business relationships. Responsible for establishing a positive, long-term relationship with third parties DMC and with A&K to create luxury shoreside Destination Experiences that meets Crystal and A&K standards & exceed guest’s expectations
Product development. Responsible for selecting the best tour program and overland (if applicable) in every in-transit ports through research, establishing networks in each country he/she is in charge for, working with our onboard colleague and shoreside colleagues.
Pricing. Responsible for product pricing in agreement with Destination Management Director
System set-up. Responsible for setting up Destination Experiences tour descriptions, pricing & general conditions on the Crystal website and reservation system
Contract and Insurance supervision. Work together with our Legal department to make sure we have contracts in place with all our providers and that their Insurance coverage meets our requirements
Operation. Follow the operation and aid in resolving any issues highlighted by the staff on board the ships, the local DMC or the Reservations Department, ensuring support to the onboard team
Guests’ satisfaction. Monitor Guests satisfaction levels related to all services through the constant analysis of scores, questionnaires, ships reporting.
Site Inspection. Ensuring proper Guest experiences by inspecting destinations and services provided above all if they are new and/or challenging. This might involve extensive travel
Cooperation with Marketing and Sales. Cooperation with our marketing team to ensure the correctness of any company collateral, brochures, and website content and prepare product presentation to share with Sales teams
Requirements
At least 3 years experience in destination department in other cruise lines shore side or 6 years on board
Good organizational skills with ability to multi-task
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, including grammar, composition, and descriptive writing in English
Knowledge and interest in world geography, general world history and cultures
Understanding of budget planning and revenue analysis
Must have good administrative skills & computer literate proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other online and social media formats
Positive attitude and enthusiastic team player that works well with others
Service minded with an outgoing personality with ability to interact and communicate clearly with internal and external at all levels and of all nationalities
Expected Hours of Work
The position is full-time and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours.
