Equipment Quality - Lab Technician Manufacturing (Contract)

Position Summary
A leading manufacturing organization in Fayetteville, TN is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician for a 3-month+ contract assignment. Working within an anonymous, industry-leading production environment, you will handle product performance testing for equipment functionality and design. You will be responsible for validating equipment against prescribed methods, customer requirements, and regulatory standards, ensuring all test results are accurately documented for engineering and compliance teams.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Setup and prepare units for comprehensive performance and functionality testing.
• Document precise testing procedures and results, delivering accurate data packages to engineering teams.
• Assist with critical performance testing required for UL, NSF, and other regulatory agency certifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing during pre-production and production runs.
• Partner with production teams to rapidly resolve product quality and certification compliance issues.
• Maintain, calibrate, and safely operate laboratory testing equipment and supplies.
• Interact professionally with customers and outside test laboratories to resolve quality and certification inquiries.
• Travel periodically to customer sites or third-party testing facilities as required.
• Proactively suggest improvements to testing standards and procedures to enhance quality and workflow.
• Interface cross-functionally with purchasing, production control, design engineering, and customer service.
• Adhere strictly to all organizational safety, security, and attendance procedures.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Degree: Associate Degree with 3 years of related experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Industry Experience: Manufacturing or production background preferred, with exposure to strong mechanical processes.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment, instruments, engineering terminology, blueprint interpretation, and electrical wiring practices.
• Software/Tools: Strong proficiency with computers, data entry, and documentation software.
