Key Responsibilities
Assist with fiber optic splicing in aerial environments under supervision
Support cable preparation, enclosure setup, and fiber handling
Perform basic fusion splicing and fiber preparation tasks
Assist with testing using OTDR, light source, and power meter equipment
Maintain splice documentation and daily production logs
Support troubleshooting of fiber network issues under guidance
Work safely at heights and follow all fall protection procedures
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
Report hazards, incidents, or issues immediately
Minimum Requirements:
Fiber Optic Certification required (e.g., FOA CFOT, ETA, or equivalent)
Fall Protection Competent Person Training (REQUIRED)
Some hands-on experience or exposure to fiber, construction, or utility work
Ability to work at heights and follow strict safety procedures
Ability to perform physical work (lifting up to 50 lbs)
Willingness to travel and work extended or irregular hours
Reliable transportation
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
Training & Development
On-the-job training to build splicing and testing proficiency
OSHA 10-Hour Certification (required within 90 days if not already held)
Ongoing field development toward independent splicing capability
