Job Description\: 

UAS Senior Regulatory Analyst

Researches and drafts regulatory documents and reviews documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with appropriate requirements. Available to consult on technical, legal, and regulatory aviation issues related to specific tasks.  Support the UAS Support Center Help Desk summarizing and analyzing public comments, researching aviation and other regulatory issues, supporting special projects, working with Government and industry personnel, and conducting Internet research.  Analyzes Part 107 waivers, UAS airspace waivers and petitions for exemption. Provides expertise on technical aspects for UAS and flight operations including UAS data analysis teams, command and control systems, detect and avoid systems, traffic management systems, spectrum, UAS operations and UAS failure management systems.

Task:

Support development, analysis, implementation, and rulemaking for UAS Advance Air Mobility (AAM)/Urban Air Mobility (UAM), UAS Traffic Management (UTM), Beyond Visual line of Sight rules and other UAS integration initiatives.

Job Qualifications:

Master’s Degree and 10 years of aviation-related or regulatory drafting experience, including a minimum of 3 years direct experience in UAS regulatory analysis.  Master’s Degree may be waived with Bachelor’s Degree and 13 years of related experience including a minimum of 3 years direct experience in UAS operations and NAS integration.

Job location is 950 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC 20024. Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA. US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
