Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience performing the foregoing technical writing functions. At least 2 years of the individual’s foregoing total experience must have consisted of performing technical writing functions with respect to FAA aviation regulatory documentation or related disciplines. Bachelor’s Degree may be waived with 10 years of experience in performing the above duties.

Job location is 950 L'Enfant Plaza SW, Washington, DC 20024. Required clearance is an SF-85P completed on site by the FAA. US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Job Title\: FAA - Senior Technical Writer/Editor – UAS Integration Office
Sr. Technical Writer/Editor
Applies in-depth knowledge and understanding of the NAS, aviation and/or flight procedures, researches technical and documentation requirements to produce guidance materials for the purpose of communicating highly complex and technical aviation materials to a wide-ranging audience and in numerous forms of written and electronic media. Collaborates with diverse skill sets to translate complex operational NAS concepts in easily understandable documents. Analyzes existing and potential content to identify reuse and evaluate observations to produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. Applies knowledge of documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit, and publish technical materials.
Software Requirements\:
Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word – strong knowledge of Word including document formatting with headers levels and table of contents; creation of tables; document review functions. Microsoft PowerPoint – working knowledge of power point and master slide features. Microsoft Excel – working knowledge of spread sheets and basic excel functions. Knowledge of SharePoint and AdobeConnect.
