Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Install aerial fiber optic cable on existing utility poles and communications infrastructure. 
  •  Perform strand placement, fiber lashing, overlash operations, and cable transfers. 
  •  Install anchors, guy wire, and related aerial hardware. 
  •  Read and interpret construction prints, maps, staking sheets, and utility locates. 
  •  Operate bucket trucks, cable reel trailers, lashers, pullers, and other aerial construction equipment. 
  •  Maintain proper cable clearances and ensure compliance with utility and customer specifications. 
  •  Perform daily vehicle, equipment, and safety inspections. 
  •  Identify and report safety hazards, damaged facilities, and utility conflicts. 
  •  Complete required production reports, safety documentation, and project paperwork. 
  •  Assist with restoration and cleanup activities as necessary. 
  •  Work closely with supervisors, utility representatives, and project management teams to ensure successful project completion.
Required Qualifications

  •  Minimum 2 years of aerial fiber optic construction experience. 
  •  Experience with strand placement and fiber lashing. 
  •  Ability to climb poles when required (where permitted and qualified). 
  •  Ability to safely work from bucket trucks and elevated work platforms.
