Work Location
This role is based in Albuquerque, with the the expectation of travel throughout New Mexico.
Summary
Estimators are the tip of the spear here at B&D and Quantity Surveyors are no different. Their primary focus is set on accurately calculating Cost Value Reconciliation in our specialized construction areas, for continuous economic appraisal of our customer’s projects. The position requires above average attention to details and strong commitment to completing tasks on time. A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detailed and specialized work is the major focus. The position will generally be task oriented and requires someone with a conservative, careful, and cautious approach to work.

Responsibilities
· Preparation of takeoff quantity from construction drawing.
· Coordination of the review of draft tender documents to ensure all systems and components of the tenders are included.
· Knowledge in initial review of projects, condition of contract, contract documents, specification and design drawing.
· Preparation of tender documentation queries to consultants/clients to confirm and collect any missing data.
· Attend technical meetings and weekly progress meeting if required by manager.
· Preparation of Cost Estimation for MEP Works (Electrical) and Pricing, Rate Buildup of Materials, Labor and other misc.
· Invite the Quotation from Sub Contractor/Supplier, Negotiation and Comparison, ability to prepare pre contract & tender activity.
· Maintenance and update of Approved Sub Contractor/Supplier database.
· Corresponding with Consultants/Authorities regarding the specification/technical and BOQ any difference to tender requirements and raise queries for clarification.
· Coordination with planning, procurement, finance and administration cell for necessary documents required for the submission.
· Preparation of Bill of Quantity (BOQ) based on tender drawing & Specification includes all works.
· Perform risk and value management and cost control
· Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance works
· Prepare cost analysis on quotation to be submitted for bids
· Prepare quantity takeoff and evaluate cost proposals
· Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
· Job requires intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
· Other duties, activities and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned
Education and Experience
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Associate degree preferred
· Relevant work experience (2+ years) may substitute for the degree
· Electrical experience preferred
· Knowledge of working with MEP based project
· Ability to recognize contractual obligations of both company and its subcontractors
· Experience in AUTO CAD/MS Office and CCS (Candy) would be preferred but not essential
· Able to review and measure the executed works
· Knowledge in detailed shop drawing, coordination drawings
· Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
