A day in the life of a Destination Wedding Travel Specialist may include

  • Delivering exceptional, consistent and personalized service that the wedding party expects and deserves.
  • Schedule virtual appointments/phone calls with flexibility to meet couples needs, including after hours.
  • Responsibility for meeting client needs, building value and strengthening Fox World Travel in a way that balances the needs of clients and expectations of the organization. Reviewing options and collectively determining service levels appropriate for that client.
  • Responsibility for effectively communicating with members of the wedding party up to and through the wedding date. Responding to inquiries of wedding destination packages by using superior sales techniques including qualifying, consultative approach with educating the value features/benefits, and closing techniques.
  • Actively seeking out and participating in local and regional wedding tradeshows and events.
  • Some travel may be required for educational opportunities and destination wedding events.
  • Proactively suggesting value-adds provided by the destination that are pertinent to the client’s needs. These value-adds may include personalized website coordination; bridal registry creation; coordinating the design of personal invitations with in-house marketing support.
  • Booking domestic and international reservations for air, travel, hotel and ground transportation, following up as necessary for accurate reservation finalization.
  • Scheduling and hosting in-person or virtual full group meetings prior to travel, which may take place during evening or weekend hours.
  • Remaining informed of rules and regulations in areas such as, but not limited to; airlines, international rail services, vendor loyalty programs, as well as current affairs. Communicating information to clients accurately, appropriately and professionally ensuring clear understanding as applicable to specific destination and travel requirements for the overall program.
  • Processing air travel arrangements for passengers based on client’s requests while enforcing timeline dates and fee structure.
  • Counseling client on travel safety considerations, preferred supplier support, savings opportunities, logistical routings and options, and international entry requirements, if applicable.
  • Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Ability to tour manage with wedding group when the Eternal Bliss package is selected for onsite support.
  • Work weeks may exceed 40 hours.
  • Maintaining a favorable and collaborative working relationship with team members in all departments to foster an environment of trust and mutual respect. Driving standards and best practices whenever possible and effectively fostering a culture of engagement.
  • Enhancing the organization’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Being innovative and recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of operations and services performed.
  • Other duties, projects and alternate assignments as determined by business need.

This opportunity might be for you if you have:

  • 2+ years leisure travel industry experience with at least 1 year of destination wedding or event planning experience; strong destination knowledge of Mexico and the Caribbean; successful completion of an accredited travel school program a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of all Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Proven ability to create international travel arrangements (air, hotel and ground transportation).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of travel industry codes, terms, and practices, as well as an understanding of international travel requirements, i.e. visas, passports, immunization requirements, etc.
    • Ability to concentrate and perform accurately while meeting applicable productivity measures.

    • Execute duties while multi-tasking in a highly productive and self-directed work environment.
    • Good sense of geography and workings of travel industry in order to understand how to plan trips and construct itineraries.
    • Ability to communicate with confidence and create a credible impression to clients
    • Possess effective listening skills with ability to determine root cause quickly, check for shared understanding and address misunderstandings promptly
    • Self-motivated; demonstrate initiative with a strong commitment to personal goals, objectives and work ethic.
    • GDS proficiency, Apollo preferred
    • Ability to work independently, exercising discretion and judgment.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
    • Competency to maintain positive client and co-worker relationships—establishing, developing, and maintaining trust and loyalty over time and through changes.
    • Capability of working in a team environment supporting management and staff, following policies, providing feedback, assisting in special projects, and taking on additional responsibility.

    Destination travel is required to evaluate and thereby recommend destination wedding resorts and locations.

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach above shoulders, and move from place to place.  The incumbent is frequently required to talk and listen and use hands to finger manipulate or handle.  Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.  

    The incumbent may occasionally be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

    For On-site and Hybrid Associates: Regular attendance is necessary to successfully perform this job; extended hours may be necessary from time to time.  The incumbent works in an office environment where the noise level is low to moderate.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, a headset, a mouse, a keyboard, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

The estimated base pay range for this position starts between $17.50 and $20 per hour, less applicable withholdings and deductions, and is paid on a bi-weekly basis. The salary range provided represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect.  We structure our offers within the range based on location, experience, education, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, market conditions, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
