SUMMARY
Self starter, determined, organized, creative individual who works well independently and driven to succeed. This position will solicit, sell, plan, set up, and service everything from floral designs and table decor to entertainment and themed events, and maintain social media presence for Wedding Sales at GTRS. Attention to detail for the following types of events; Galas, Corporate Events, Charities, Weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, and Themed Parties, Meeting and Conferences. This position will also work closely with various internal departments, various entertainment, and exhibit companies. Excellent computer and verbal skills a must and must be able to type a minimum of 40wpm. Sales, catering, and social media work highly referenced. The hours are varied to include weekends and nights.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Initial responder to Inquires through various mediums (GTRS website, Wedding publications, email inquiries) for wedding and special events and will follow Inquiries through booking of event or turndown. If possible, will note turndown reasoning. All inquiries will be maintained and dated through spreadsheet.
Plan, up-sell and detail the meeting/function with the client including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc... Prepare contracts and the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, and resolve customer issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction
Creating Banquet Event Orders from start to finish
Creating Resumes for Group Bookings
Create layouts for current events booked in DELPHI Diagrams
Setting up any specialty décor for weddings or corporate events
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate/hotel procedures and products and the competition's product, strengths and weaknesses to continually improve sales strategies and the achievement of goals
Booking transportation, excursions, off property events and execution of the proceedings.
Create, order products, maintain accurate inventory, and follow proper billing procedures for amenities.
Possess ability to think outside the box and enjoy meeting new people through networking within the local community
Due to the nature of this position, availability on weekends is required and possible holidays dependent on business needs.
Work successfully in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
Performs site visits and client meetings.
Generate contracts and creative proposals to meet customer needs
Provide personal attention to clients while they are at the hotel to ensure total guest satisfaction
Develop relationships with local vendors for decor, transportation, tours, entertainment, etc.
Maintain accuracy of catering information in DELPHI
Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Position requires 1-year work history in the hospitality/service/ social media industry with proven track record. Strong preference on bachelor’s degree with hospitality/marketing/social media.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Possess a good understanding of Excel and its functions and be able to create and read reports
Experience in Delphi, Abacus and LMS are a strong plus.
Exceptional experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Office.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
The candidate must have basic mathematical skills and understand how to read, analyze and assist in the creation of budgets. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Working conditions include Office and Outdoor Environment. Loud noises are common.
