The Opportunity:

As a CACI Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS), you will be supporting the Special Operations Forces Emerging Threats, Operations, and Planning Support (SOFETOPS), you will provide Counter Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS)subject matter expertise within the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC)conduct operational planning and requirements analysis to delineate C-UAS tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), assessment of plans, technological developments. You will provide technical expertise, analysis, and advice to USASOC staff and leadership on a wide range of issues dealing with C-UAS operations planning, organizational change, organizational culture, operational management and analysis. 

You will also assist in developing C-UAS training objectives and courses of action for USASOC and joint exercises. Assists C2TID to maintain awareness of readiness status of USASOC forces as it pertains to C-UAS operations, and capacity of those organizations not assigned or attached to USASOC. Assists in identifying equipment, systems, tools, and contingency manpower requirements for C-UAS support to USASOC, GCCs, TSOCs, and other operational and contingency execution ensuring all C-UAS considerations are considered including focus on theater-specific threats, CUAS equipment and deployment-specific training, TTPs and awareness, and integrate emerging and UAS threats into unit training and exercises.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct operational planning and requirements analysis for C-UAS tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs). 
  • Assess plans and technological developments in the C-UAS field. 
  • Provide technical expertise, analysis, and advice to staff and leadership on C-UAS operations and planning. 
  • Attend/participate in meetings, conferences, working groups, and professional events related to C-UAS missions. 
  •  Develop C-UAS training objectives for exercises and assessments. 
  • Integrate emerging and current UAS threats into training and exercises. 
  • Identify theater-specific UAS threats. 
  • Provide analysis of SOF readiness and C-UAS operations capabilities. 
  • Identify/assess capabilities of organizations external USASOC. 
  • Identify equipment, systems, tools, and manpower requirements for C-UAS support to USASOC, GCCs, TSOCs, and other operational organizations. 
  • Evaluate emerging concepts, doctrine, and new material solutions related to C-UAS operations. 
  • Provide recommendations to inform course of action and solution development decisions. 
  • Develop briefings and presentations. 

Qualifications:

Required: 

  • Top Secret with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.
  • Ten (10) years’ experience with United States Special Operations Forces.
  • Extensive knowledge of UAS technologies, including types, capabilities, and operational principles.
  • Extensive knowledge with C-UAS technologies, detection, tracking, and mitigating systems.
  • Understanding of laws, regulations, and polices related to UAS and C-UAS operations.
  • Knowledge of radio frequency (RF) technologies, GPS systems, and electronic warfare concepts.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical information and train personnel in C-UAS operations.

Desired: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree from accredited university
  • Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) experience desired.
  • Experience assessing UAS threats to develop countermeasures.
  • Military or law enforcement background in UAS and C-UAS operations.
