We are seeking a Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team onsite. This is a high-impact role for an experienced construction professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys owning the numbers from concept through completion.
What You'll Do as the Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs for commercial and residential construction projects
- Analyze architectural drawings and specifications to ensure accurate scope coverage
- Develop and maintain project budgets throughout the lifecycle of each job
- Work closely with leadership to evaluate pricing, subcontractor bids, and cost projections
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards
- Build and manage Excel-based estimating models and tracking tools
- Support project planning with clear financial forecasting and reporting
Must-Haves as the Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor:
- 5+ years of professional experience in construction estimating and quantity surveying
- Strong mathematical aptitude with exceptional attention to detail
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and financial modeling
- Deep familiarity with reading and interpreting architectural and construction drawings
Nice-to-Haves as the Cost Estimator / Quantity Surveyor:
- Background in architecture or formal architectural training
- Degree or coursework in Construction Management or related field
- Hands-on field construction experience
- Experience working in small or family-owned construction firms
