Job Description:

The On-site Construction Monitoring Resident Inspector’s main responsibility is to help the corresponding On-Site Supervisors in monitoring the EPC Contractor’s civil, structural, and electrical work according to Client's target for Project Budget-Schedule-Quality bounds. This position is part of the TYPSA’s Construction Monitoring Group assigned to the project, in TYPSA’s role as On-Site Owner’s Representatives.

 

The main tasks under the Construction Supervision services are as follows:

  • Planning control
  • Cost control
  • Quality Control
  • Construction and materials logistics surveillance
  • QA/QC inspection during construction activities
  • H&S&S/Environmental surveillance
  • Commissioning supervision

 

The Construction Monitoring Resident Inspector shall carry out daily inspections and evaluation of the civil, structural, and electrical work performed by the contractor throughout the construction phase of the project. The field-gathered data and information is to be communicated to the Resident Supervisors and Construction Monitoring Team Manager for their evaluation and reporting.

 

The detailed list of activities is as follows:

  • Understand and clarify responsibilities and guarantees of the EPC Contractor.
  • Monitor EPC Contractor’s construction work for compliance with project design, contractual requirements, and applicable permits, laws, and regulations.
  • Provide quality surveyance services. Perform quality inspections to ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Perform field engineering as required to support project execution and evaluate engineering solutions/execution alternatives provided by the EPC Contractor to specific construction issues.
  • Attend POD meetings and project review meetings and provide support to the Resident Supervisors and Construction.
  • Monitoring Manager in overseeing EPC Contractor work and resolving issues arising there from.
  • Monitor Contractor start-up, commissioning, and testing activities to ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Verify that as-built drawings are according to execution.
  • Monitor completion of any punch list items by Contractor.
  • Uploading and maintaining the Document System database (Procore) for all construction records and documentation.
  • Witness Plant sub-system testing (civil, mechanical, electrical, M&C), evaluate test conditions per existing testing procedures and verify fulfillment of test results per acceptability criteria. Document test reports for QA/QC Owner´s representative.
  • Responsible for gathering field information representative of EPC's contractor performance following directions from the Aztec’s Resident Supervisors.


Job Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills): 

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in construction supervision and inspection of large infrastructures.
  • Mid-level user skills with Microsoft Office suite/Teams software.
  • Familiar with the ‘Procore’ document management software.
  • Experience with large-scale renewable energy projects is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Must be a good communicator and team player
  • Must demonstrate ability to provide excellent client service
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to maintain insurability under the company's insurance carrier
